Most inline shower filters, including the Crystal Quest and GoodFor filters we sell, install between the shower arm and the shower head. You unscrew the head, screw the filter onto the arm, then screw the head onto the filter.
Thread size
In the United States, most shower arms and heads use a 1/2-inch NPT thread. That is the common standard, but it is not universal, and none of our filter brands has published its thread size to us yet. If your shower arm looks unusual, or you are outside the US, email us before ordering and we will check with the brand.
Space
An inline filter adds a few inches between the arm and the head. Crystal Quest lists its filter at 8 × 3 × 3 inches. Check you have room above the head, especially with a low ceiling or a fixed rain head.
Pressure and temperature
Crystal Quest rates its filter for 30 to 60 psi and 40 to 110°F, and says a drop in flow is a sign the cartridge needs changing. Other brands have not shared figures with us.
Handheld showers
Our current filters are for fixed shower arms. If you have a handheld hose, ask us first.
Not sure? Email samvira.ai@gmail.com with a photo of your shower arm and we will check.
